About VRTG Project

My name is Gustavo Bueno, I'm a IT analyst and programmer with 13 years experience working on a container terminal.
With my experience, I've worked to create solutions to improve the operational efficiency with creative software aplications.

One type of equipment, the RTG (rubber tyred gantry crane) caught my attention by its operational issues.
In the last five years, the terminal experienced four major incidents. Only material was lost with only minor injuries and no loss of life.
On two occasions, one container fell over a truck (true mess). In another case, two RTGs collided with each other working in the same yard block. Finally, we had a collision of an RTG against the lighting structure siting on the end of yard block.
We also had several other minor issues.

Another relevant point are the operational errors. Considering the RTG operator has a poor viewing position, it is relatively easy for the operator to move the wrong container, at the wrong position or even from the wrong row.

Thinking about all this, I designed a software solution that I believe can minimize potential incidents, operational mistakes and bring other features to make the RTG operations safer and more productive.

The Virtual RTG can solve this issues with a relatively low cost.

The Virtual RTG system does not interfere in terminal operation, and no interaction with TOS used on terminals is needed. It only works with the yard blocks layout and RTG's information.

I am looking for a partner to build the project pilot and finalize it as a product for the market.
